Alex Crane: Organic Cotton & Linen Menswear

Alex Crane builds menswear around natural fiber and warm weather. French flax linen, organic cotton, banana plant, and corozo are the starting points, and the cuts follow from there: loose, breathable, made to move when it's hot out. We brought the line into fig. because it does the lightweight summer wardrobe better than most, and because the fabric does the work that logos do elsewhere. The label has been designed out of Brooklyn since 2017, with a California-in-New-York sensibility behind it: relaxed, unhurried, more interested in how a shirt feels at the end of a long day than in chasing a trend. That shows up in the linen camp shirts, the soft organic cotton tees, and the lightweight knits, all of it built to be worn hard and washed often without losing shape.

It's a certified B-Corp, and the materials are grown rather than synthesized, which is the real reason the pieces breathe and soften the way they do. The flax comes from the Normandy coast, the cotton from organic growers, and the buttons from the corozo nut. None of that is decoration; it's the whole point of the brand. For a Brooklyn shop, Alex Crane fits the way we think about a menswear staple: well-made, easy to live in, honest about what it's made of. The linen shirting holds up for a beach wedding as readily as a slow Saturday, and the organic cotton has quietly become a staple in the shop.
