Frank & Eileen Button-Down Shirts and Linen Trousers

Audrey McLoghlin, a former engineer, started Frank & Eileen in 2009 to rethink the button-up for women, a shirt category built almost entirely around men. She named it for her Irish grandparents and developed the first collection on Italian shirting from Albini, the mill that has been a partner from the beginning. Their Italian fabric traces back to the field where its fiber was grown and carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification. Frank & Eileen is also a certified B Corp and entirely woman-owned, having turned down venture capital to keep full ownership, and has pledged $20 million over ten years to educating women entrepreneurs.

Frank & Eileen's women's tops center on the button-down shirt, in a relaxed fit that hangs loose over jeans and a tailored fit that sits closer to the body and is sharp enough for work. Italian cotton is the base, with the women's linen button-down shirts using European Flax-certified linen and the denim button-down shirt cut from Italian denim. Buttons are made from certified recycled content, and every style is machine washable. The linen in Frank & Eileen's women's bottoms is Italian performance linen, a cotton-linen blend heavier than the shirting, cut into wide-leg linen trousers that sit mid-rise and run full length to pair cleanly with a tucked button-down.

Frank & Eileen's men's shirts, stocked at fig., take the button-down back where it started. These button-down shirts for men are cut from Italian-woven cotton and include a hidden button-down collar that works tucked into trousers or worn loose. Frank & Eileen's knitwear is knit, sewn, washed, and dyed in Los Angeles, including Tee Lab, its jersey label, whose capelet hoodies layer easily over a shirt. Through ReLoved, its resale program, worn pieces go to a second owner instead of a landfill.
